LOONEYVILLE, WV — The Appalachian District of USPS has announced that a decision has been made to relocate the Looneyville Main Post Office and reestablish retail services to a yet-to-be-determined location in the community of Looneyville.
The Postal Service held a community meeting to discuss the Post Office’s status on June 26. After carefully considering all comments made at the meeting, the decision was made to proceed with a new space project. The project will allow the Postal Service to reestablish retail operations for our customers in Looneyville for the long term. The Postal Service will continue to offer retail services form the Left Hand Post Office.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
