BECKLEY, WV — The bi-annual National Boy Scout Jamboree is set for July 19-July 28th at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Mount Hope, WV. This event will be highlighted by an opening and closing day special pictorial cancellation, as well as a pictorial cancellation available daily during the event. The cancellations will be available at the temporary Post Office stations located on site for this year’s Jamboree or by mail in request.
There will also be three different Limited Edition philatelic cachets available for purchase at the temporary Post Office stations while supplies last. Opening day cachets will be available throughout the event while the closing day cachet is only available on July 28. The daily cachet will also be available throughout the entire event.
Philatelists, and those unable to attend the event may submit envelopes to: Postmaster, PO BOX 9998, Beckley, WV 25801, within 30 days of July 19, 2017. All requests to the POSTMASTER must include a stamped envelope or postcard bearing at least the minimum First-Class Mail postage - and should be addressed to you. Unaddressed envelopes or postcards must include a self-addressed stamped return envelope for their return . There is no charge for this service.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
