CHARLESTON WV — Postal Service facilities will be closed for retail transactions on Monday, November 12, in observance of the Veterans Day observed holiday. There will be no regular mail delivery and limited collection runs will be conducted throughout Charleston and the Appalachian District which encompasses ZIP Codes: 240-243, 245-259, 261-268, 37620-21, 37625, and 41503.

Although, there will not be regular mail delivery on the Veterans Day observed holiday, Priority Mail Express is delivered 365 days a year and will be delivered on November 12.

Normal delivery and collection schedules will resume Tuesday, November 13.

Commercial mailers are encouraged to not hold their mail until Tuesday, rather they are afforded an opportunity to get their mail inducted into the system earlier than normal. Bulk Mail Acceptance Units (BMEU) in the graph below will open on the Monday, November 12 holiday for dropping off mail which will assist mail processing in alleviating some of the strain on the system due to heavy volumes arriving the day after the holiday.

Important Note to Customers: to Customers are encouraged to call Christina McComas at 304-747-8221 to schedule mail pickup on the holiday. Minimum volumes are needed in order to request a pickup; accurate estimates are required. USPS would to have any one of these minimums met in order to schedule a pickup: 400 letters; 100 large envelopes; 25 packages.
