5-15.2 Types of Recognition and Rewards

Recognition can include the Postal Service providing the supplier with a plaque, awards ceremony participation, press release, letter of commendation, or formal communication to the supplier’s senior management. Rewards can include additional benefits, such as, obtaining strategic or key supplier status, and an enhanced supplier reputation within the marketplace. Rewards act as an incentive to suppliers for investing and sharing risks on key Postal Service programs, innovations, and technologies.

Supplier awards do not however provide for, or equate to, an endorsement of the supplier, their product, or services. The Postal Service provides for supplier awards based on the contract performance the Postal Service receives. The Postal Service remains impartial in the marketplace and does not endorse suppliers to other customers or in other business opportunities on behalf of a current or prior supplier.
