Before an asset can be disposed of, it is the responsibility of the life cycle management team to review and approve the recommended disposal methods for excess property. The life cycle management team is a cross-functional team that comprises members of the purchase⁄SCM team and members of the areas appropriate to the product. The life cycle management team will have previous knowledge of, and working experience with, the assets being disposed of to determine the most economical and efficient means of disposal.
