The government-wide point of entry (GPE), also known as SAM (https://sam.gov), is the single point where most government purchasing opportunities and contract awards can be accessed electronically through the internet by the public. The GPE should be used at least as one location when publicizing requirements because it is recognized by the supplier community as a primary source for information regarding business opportunities and executive agency contracting requirements. The GPE can also be accessed electronically by the general public for business tracking purposes. When using the GPE to promote competition, publication requirements should occur in a time frame which allows participants to plan and respond to the issued RFP.
