USPS Rio Grande District Continues to Restore Full Services For most Hurricane Harvey-affected customers

SAN ANTONIO, TX — Mail delivery, collections and retail services have been restored to most U.S. Postal Service customers affected by Hurricane Harvey in the Rio Grande District’s Texas Gulf Coast area. In the days immediately following the storm, the Postal Service began an active recovery. We are now open and operational in most locations, and with a few exceptions are providing service, even in the hardest hit areas, where it is safe to do so.

Some postal facilities still remain inaccessible.  We continually assess our facilities to ensure they are safe to occupy.  For those Post Offices still unable to be occupied, we are currently operating in alternate locations until repairs can be made.  Updated information on Post Office operations will be posted to the USPS Service Alerts website accessed through http://about.usps.com/news/service-alerts/welcome.htm

The following offices have resumed normal operations effective today, Sept. 15, 2017:

Street delivery has resumed to all Rio Grande District locations. Retail and PO Box mail services for Post Offices/Stations/Branches/Finance Units have resumed normal operations, with the exception of the offices listed below that remain closed until further notice:
