Houston, TX — Mail delivery, collections and retail services have been restored to all but a few U.S. Postal Service customers affected by Hurricane Harvey in the greater Houston area. In the days immediately following the storm, the Postal Service began an active recovery. We are now open and operational in most locations, and with a very few exceptions are now providing service even in the hardest hit areas, where it is safe to do so.

Some postal facilities still remain inaccessible.  We continually assess our facilities to ensure they are safe to occupy.  For those Post Offices still unable to be occupied, we are currently operating in alternate locations until repairs can be made.  Updated information on Post Office operations will be posted to the USPS Service Alerts website accessed through http://about.usps.com/news/service-alerts/welcome.htm.
