USPS Employee Connectivity Program
Get ready to fly like an eagle... through cyber-
space... with the Postal Service's Employee
Connectivity Program.
Want an affordable home computer system?
Want access to the Internet? Want to tap into a world of information at your fingertips? How about access to your postal world through USPS
Online, the Postal Service intranet site?
It's happening! The Postal Service is helping to
pave the on-ramp to the information superhighway for postal employees. Through USPS agreements with Compaq and IBM, career postal employees this spring will be able to purchase state-of-the-art computer systems, obtain free Internet service, and get discounts on related items.
How much is the Postal Service paying for
this? Nothing. Compaq and IBM are making their respective offers directly to postal employees, who will be ordering the system of their choice
(including options) directly from one of these two companies.
"The Internet is a powerful, useful tool that
can enrich our employees' personal and pro-fessional lives. This computer offer is one way to make sure all of our employees are on the right side of the digital divide," says USPS Chief Technology Officer Peter Jacobson.
