New Allsteel Catalog

Be on the lookout in July for the new Allsteel catalog. It will include new product information, pricing changes, and "Express Solutions" that provide quick delivery on select frequently ordered items. The new catalog (#3) will have a yellow cover in place of the blue cover on the current version (#2).

National Contract Awarded For Cluster Box Units and Outdoor Parcel Lockers

On February 7, 2005, the Delivery, Industrial Equipment, and Telecommunications (DIE-Tel) Category Management Center (CMC) awarded a national contract for centralized delivery equipment to Auth-Florence Manufacturing Company. This contract is the mandatory source for all cluster box units, outdoor parcel lockers, and all repair and replacement parts for new and existing equipment.





Effective June 1, 2005, the Auth-Florence catalog for the new contract will be available through eBuy. If you have access to the Postal ServiceTM Intranet, you must order this equipment through eBuy, the preferred purchasing method. You can access eBuy on the Postal Service Intranet at http://ebuy.usps.gov/eBuyWelcome.jsp. If your facility does not have intranet access, you may order by contacting Sandy Lackner at Auth-Florence at 800-275-1747.

Ricoh Corporation - New Computer System Implementation

Ricoh Corporation will be implementing a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) computer system on July 8, 2005. Prior to going live on July 8, most of the existing Ricoh systems will be offline for a period of 4 business days to allow for system conversion. The conversion is scheduled from July 1 to 7. During this time, Ricoh will not be able to fulfill orders or allow eMeter entry; however, you will still be able to request service through Ricoh Customer Service at 800-432-6973.

Please review your supply inventory level prior to conversion downtime and order any supplies you may need.

 

 

By ensuring that you have adequate inventory on hand, you will safeguard against any delays that may be caused by Ricoh's system implementation.

Integrated Pest Management

The Environmental & Maintenance and Repair Operations (MRO) Category Management Center (CMC) awarded contract number 2CESER-04-Q-4463 to Ecolab Pest Management Services (Ecolab) to provide a full range of integrated pest management (IPM) services. This mandatory-use contract is to be utilized by all Postal ServiceTM locations within the 48 contiguous United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands to obtain pest management services. Ecolab's catalog is now available on eBuy. If you have questions about the catalog, please contact Ecolab at its Customer Service number 877-ECO-POST (877-326-7678).

The technical requirements for this national contract for IPM were based on the environmental Management Instruction (MI) AS-550-95-10, Integrated Pest Management. The MI describes the Postal Service's policies and procedures for an IPM program. Using appropriate technology and management practices, the IPM program emphasizes non-chemical over chemical control techniques, but does not eliminate the use of pesticides. Additionally, IPM is considered the "gold standard" of pest control service procedures in the industry. You can obtain a copy of the MI on the intranet at http://blue.usps.gov/cpim/miid.htm.

Standard periodic IPM service includes building inspection and treatment for mice and common insect problems found within the building and 10 feet beyond the exterior walls. Special services include inspection for subterranean termites, treatment of subterranean termites, mosquito treatment, bird deterrents, bird netting, removal of outside invaders, fire ant treatment, perimeter protection service, building repair (exclusion services), fly abatement service, and rodent device service. The standard commercial warranty applies. If a pest problem persists, contact Ecolab's Customer Service at 877-ECO-POST (877-326-7678) within 1 week of the original service and Ecolab will re-service at no additional cost. Material Logistics Bulletin MLB-CO-04-012, National Source for Integrated Pest Management Services, Ecolab Pest Management Services, was issued in June 2005, and is available at http://blue.usps.gov/purchase/ operations/ops_mlb2004.htm. This document provides detailed instructions concerning order placement and reconciliation of the Billing Summary Report.

If you do not have an active infestation and need to reduce the annual cost, you might consider ordering services with less frequency (every 2 weeks instead of weekly or every 2 months instead of monthly). Before placing an order, you must have a valid FEDSTRIP number and follow locally established buying procedures.

If your facility has Internet access, and if you are currently obtaining pest control services from a supplier other than Ecolab, provide your local supplier with a 60- to 90-day termination notice and prepare an on-catalog eBuy requisition for Ecolab detailing the services needed.

If your facility does not have Internet access, orders should be placed by faxing or mailing an approved copy of PS Form 7381, Requisition for Supplies, Services, or Equipment, to 701-795-8025 or Ecolab Pest Management Services, PO Box 6007, Grand Forks, ND 58206-9983.
