PUBLICATION 51 REVISION
Addition of Rates for the Marshall Islands and Micronesia
Effective February 16, 2006, we are revising Publication
51, International Postal Rates and Fees, to include an appendix containing the rates for the Republic of the Marshall
Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia.
Under agreements negotiated by the United States government with the Republic of the Marshall Islands and the
Federated States of Micronesia, effective January 8, 2006,
mail destined to these two countries use the international
rate schedules. However, because the new rates will be
phased in over at least 5 years, the rates do not fit into the
current international rate groups. Previously, Publication 51
referred readers to the Individual Country Listings (ICLs) in
the International Mail Manual (IMM) for rates to the
Marshall Islands and Micronesia, but it will be easier for
customers who use Publication 51 to have those rates included directly in the publication.
