Postal Service Telephone Credit Cards
Use of official telephone credit cards has been declining,
possibly because of greater availability of cellular services
and decreased availability of public pay telephones. Inventory of telephone credit cards shows that only 4 percent of
cardholders used their cards within a 6-month period and
96 percent hadn't used their cards for over a year. To
reduce administrative costs, accounts showing no activity
for 12 months will be eliminated effective July 28.
