POM REVISION

New Language Reflects Signage in Post Offices

Effective immediately, Exhibit 125.343 of the Postal Operations Manual (POM) is corrected to substitute the term "collection point times" for "dispatch times". Information about back-end operations, such as dispatch times arising between retail installations and postal processing plants, is neither posted publicly nor subject to mandatory public disclosure.

May 2006 Mover's Guide News

The September 2006 issue of Publication 75, Mover's Guide, is now available. As of September 1, please display the new issue and recycle all expired versions.

Catalog Address Change and Request Card

• Attached to PS Form 3575, Change-of-Address Order, is the Catalog Address Change and Request Card, which movers can fill out to let catalogers know where they are moving.

• The Catalog Address Change and Request Card must be detached from the change-of-address (COA) form and from the catalog description card.

• The Catalog Address Change and Request Card and the COA form should be mailed separately. This is important for change-of-address processing.

For offices that DO NOT receive automatic distribution (the majority of offices fall in this category)

• In August, your Post OfficeTM will receive a package of 25 Mover's Guides.

• Do not display this edition until September 1, 2006, unless your current stock of this item is depleted.

• After September 1, 2006, you must recycle all copies of any older version of the Mover's Guide remaining at your facility.

• To order up to 100 copies, call the Material Distribution Center (MDC) and use touch tone order entry (TTOE): Call 800-332-0317, option 2.

NOTICE

New TTY Number for 1-800-ASK-USPS

The Postal ServiceTM has a new TTY number - 877-TTY-2HLP or 877-889-2457- to allow our deaf, hard- of-hearing, or speech-impaired customers to access all the information and services available at 1-800-ASK-USPS. A TTY, or teletypewriter, is a special device that enables people to communicate by typing messages back and forth rather than by talking and listening. A TTY, sometimes mistakenly referred to as a TDD or telephone device for the deaf, is required at both ends in order to communicate. TTY calls to the Postal Service are answered by a special group of contact center agents.

The new TTY number must be included each time our 1-800-ASK-USPS number is featured in any customer communication. To facilitate this transition, the previous TTY number will remain in operation while the new number is publicized.
