Postal Service Policy on Workplace Harassment

Effective September 22, 2006, the Postal Service™ has revised and expanded its Policy on Workplace Harassment (see pages 9 – 10). Recent developments in the law make it clear that an employer's anti-harassment policy should prohibit all harassment in violation of federal discrimination laws. Employers are also required to take steps to prevent and remedy workplace harassment and inappropriate behavior that could lead to illegal harassment. Therefore, under this policy the Postal Service will promptly investigate claims of harassment.

This policy will help further the Postal Service's goal of maintaining a diverse, tolerant, and harassment-free workforce.
