POSTMASTER/FIELD GUIDE REVISION
PS Form 835, Quarterly Report of Originating Registered and C.O.D. Transactions,
Now Obsolete
Effective January 1, 2007, completion of PS Form 835,
Quarterly Report of Originating Registered and C.O.D.
Transactions, is no longer required. Originating Registered
Mail® and Collect on Delivery data are now gathered from
the POS system and a supplemental sampling system.
Postmasters and managers, or their representatives, are
no longer required to complete this form for submission to
the district finance office. Offices must discard/recycle all
blank and unused copies of PS Form 835.

Procedures

Quarterly Reporting of Originating Registered
and COD Transactions
The quarterly reporting of originating Registered and
COD transactions will be submitted to the District
Statistical Programs office.
The originating registered and COD transaction data
collected via PS Form 835, Quarterly Report of Originating Registered and COD Transactions, is used in
the Revenue, Pieces, and Weight (RPW) Report. On
a quarterly basis, Post Offices must complete and
submit PS Form 835 to the Managers, Statistical Programs, who are responsible for collection and transmission of this information.
