REVISED FORM

Revised PS Form 2181-B, Applicant Drug Screening — Consent and Release

Effective immediately, applicants for Postal ServiceTM employment who are being screened for drugs must begin using the revised edition of PS Form 2181-B, Applicant Drug Screening - Consent and Release, December 2006. The updated form contains a new Privacy Act statement and replaces previous editions, which contained space for the applicant to list drugs used within the last 30 days. Previous editions are obsolete and must be disposed of properly.

When to Use PS Form 2181-B

Human Resources personnel coordinate drug screening urinalysis no sooner than 90 days before anticipated hiring. Only applicants determined to be drug-free as a result of the urinalysis are eligible for selection consideration. Use PS Form 2181-B only for applicant drug screening. Postal Service employees who apply for promotion, reassignment, or change to a lower level are not considered applicants for drug screening purposes, except for positions in the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
