New Publication 186, Celebrating with Pictorial Postmarks

The Postal Service™ has issued a new 20-page, 4-color booklet, Publication 186, Celebrating with Pictorial Post­marks: A Unique Program for Making Your Mark on History, to provide information to the general public about the pic­torial postmark program. The booklet explains what picto­rial postmarks are and provides details on how the public can submit a request to their local postmaster for a pictorial postmark to commemorate special community events. Publication 186 also gives an overview of more than 160 years of postmark history leading up to today’s picto­rial postmark program.
