The Postal Service™ has issued a new 20-page, 4-color booklet, Publication 186, Celebrating with Pictorial Postmarks: A Unique Program for Making Your Mark on History, to provide information to the general public about the pictorial postmark program. The booklet explains what pictorial postmarks are and provides details on how the public can submit a request to their local postmaster for a pictorial postmark to commemorate special community events. Publication 186 also gives an overview of more than 160 years of postmark history leading up to today’s pictorial postmark program.
