Effective March 1, 2007, new account identifier codes (AICs) have been created as offset accounts to overages or shortages recorded for retail floor stock credits and vending stock credits. After the new POS ONE System Software Release 26.0 is downloaded to POS ONE at your unit, retail floor stock and vending stock credit overages or shortages will no longer offset to postage sales.
When posting retail floor stock counts and vending stock credit counts in POS ONE, the results of the count will post to the appropriate overage or shortage AIC account. Subsequently, POS will automatically offset the overage to the corresponding new assigned AIC or the shortage to the corresponding new assigned AIC. These new assigned AICs will adjust stamp stock credit accountability to the amount as counted.

Overages will continue to be reported in AIC 239, Retail Floor Stock Overage, and will automatically offset to the following AICs:
This will adjust the vending stock credit accountability to the amount as counted.
Shortages will continue to be reported in AIC 639, Retail Floor Stock Shortages, and will automatically offset to the following AICs:
This will adjust the vending stock credit accountability to the amount as counted.
Overages will continue to be reported in AIC 175, Vending Machine Overage, and will automatically offset to the following AICs:
This will adjust the vending stock credit accountability to the amount as counted.
Shortage will continue to be reported in AIC 612, Vending Machine Shortage, and will automatically offset to the following AICs:
This will adjust the vending stock credit accountability to the amount as counted.
