Returning products to suppliers is costly to the Postal Service™ and to our suppliers. Postal Service employees must always be aware of the additional costs involved in ordering the wrong product, returning the product to the supplier, and re-ordering the correct product.
To eliminate these costs, Postal Service facilities unsure of a product’s function, capabilities, or applications should contact W. W. Grainger at 800-468-8326; MSC Industrial Supply at 800-672-4468; or Cleanwise at 877-778-8067 for verification. These suppliers accept product returns and provide credits to the end user even for errors that are not the direct result of their internal order fulfillment processes. Because of our suppliers’ commitment to provide best overall value to the Postal Service, they also absorb all restocking charges.
If a supplier’s order fulfillment process, catalog descriptions, or delivery methods result in product ordering errors and product returns, contact Mary Ballard, contracting officer for custodial products at 214-819-7109, or Vicki Kokoruda, contracting officer for maintenance, repair, and operations products at 214-819-7102.
Let’s be good business partners. If you have a problem with a product, contact your supplier and process all returns no later than 30 days after receipt of the product.
