Oklahoma District’s Maintenance Chief wins award

Cover story \= Oklahoma District Manager of Vehicle Maintenance Lew Flowers wins leadership award.Lew Flowers, man­ager of Vehicle Mainte­nance for the Oklahoma District, has received the Technology and Mainte­nance Career Leadership Award.

The award is given each year by the Com­merce Carrier Journal, a trade publication for the commercial trucking industry.

Flowers is responsible for the Oklahoma District’s 2,100 vehicles, 51 employees and a $5 million budget. He is a member of the Society of Automotive engineers and the Oklahoma Trucking Association. Flowers is also a member of the Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC), where he has served on and chaired numerous study groups and was the organization’s general chairman. In 1997, he earned the Silver Spark Plug — TMC’s highest honor.
