Revised Publication 108, Threat Assessment Team Guide Is Now Available

We have revised Publication 108, Threat Assessment Team Guide. This publication sets forth requirements and guidelines to enhance the effectiveness of Threat Assess­ment Teams and ensure consistency throughout the Postal Service™. The March 2007 edition supersedes the December 2002 edition and the updates of March 2005. Changes include:

• Adding a chapter that outlines compliance measures.
• Clarifying the meaning of the Postal Service’s zero tolerance policy.
• Adding a subsection and an exhibit to increase awareness and understanding of domestic violence and how it can affect the workplace.
• Addressing the role of the Employee Assistance Pro­gram consultant as a situational advisor to provide expertise on domestic violence.
• Adding a subsection explaining the new, optional workplace violence refresher course.
• Changing the role of the Workplace Improvement Analyst from situational advisor to core team member.
• Addressing the value of involving union officials as ad hoc resources in prevention efforts.
• Addressing management involvement in the team process.
• Addressing a new framework for evaluation tools.
