Customers can now search online at USPS.com® for available Post Office box service. On November 9, 2007, the Postal Service™ launched a new “PO Boxes Available” search option that helps customers locate Post Offices™ with available Post Office box service, including available box sizes and prices.
To search for available Post Office box service either by ZIP Code™ or address, go to www.usps.com; click on Locate a Post Office; in the “Options” drop-down menu (under “What are you trying to locate?”), click on PO Boxes Available (see Exhibit 1); type in a ZIP Code or an address in the available boxes; and then hit the “Search” button.
The new feature then displays a list of the nearest Post Offices and, for each office, the Post Office box service information, including available box sizes and associated 6-month box fees (see Exhibit 2). Click on More Info to see more details about service at that Post Office, including the address, telephone number, business hours, and Post Office box lobby hours (see Exhibit 3).
