Breast cancer stamp law extended

The president has signed into law legislation extending the sale of the Breast Cancer Research semipostal stamps through 2011. The four-year extension, which Congress approved unanimously earlier this month, means funding from the sale of the stamps will be available for breast cancer research and treatment programs for another four years. Since 1998, the sale of more than 802 million stamps has generated $59.5 million in financial assistance to find a cure for the disease.
