Fact Sheet: Priority Mail Large Flat-Rate Box

• A new, larger flat-rate box will be made available to Priority Mail customers for domestic and international shipping.
• A special version of the box, the Priority Mail APO/FPO Flat-Rate Box, featuring the America Supports You logo is available for customers shipping to military service men and women at APO/FPO addresses.

Note: The APO/FPO Flat-Rate Box is intended for use only to APO/FPO addresses; however, retail employees will not refuse these boxes if presented at retail for non-APO/FPO addresses.

Benefits

• The Priority Mail Large Flat-Rate Box provides an additional option for customers who want to take advantage of Priority Mail flat-rate pricing.
• The same box can be used for either domestic or international shipments.
• Customers shipping the Priority Mail Large Flat-Rate Box or the specially designed APO/FPO version to APO/FPO ZIP Codes™ will pay $2.00 less.
• The new box is not subject to surcharges, and it can be combined with USPS.com online services like free package pickup.
• If postage is purchased through PC Postage^® channels, Delivery Confirmation™ service is free.
• The new box is ecofriendly and has received Cradle to Cradle Certification. This independent certification is awarded to products that use ecologically intelligent design that eliminates the concept of waste.

Size

12 inches x 12 inches x 5-1/2 inches (50 percent more capacity than the current flat-rate box).

Prices

• Domestic shipments using the new box are priced at $12.95.
• Shipments to APO/FPO addresses using the new box are priced at $10.95.
• Shipments to Canada and Mexico using the new box are priced at $29.95.
• International shipments to the rest of the world using the new box are priced at $49.95.

Effective Date

On March 3, 2008, customers can begin sending the new boxes at the above prices.

Customers may order boxes from The Postal Store^®, at www.usps.com, and by calling 800-610-8734 beginning February 20, 2008, but shipping at the new rates cannot begin until March 3, 2008.
