Effective March 3, 2008, we are revising sections 123.1 and 703.2.1.2 of the Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®) to reflect the addition of the new Priority Mail® Large Flat-Rate Box. The new flat-rate box is identified by the words “Large Flat Rate Box” printed on the packaging. Items to an APO/FPO address may be shipped in the Priority Mail Large Flat-Rate Box or in a special version of the Priority Mail Large Flat-Rate Box identified with the additional logo: “Americasupportsyou.mil.”
A lower postage rate for APO/FPO ZIP Code™ destinations provides an opportunity for the Postal Service™ to show support for American troops stationed abroad and their families.
