As a result of the “Toner — Save Money and Protect the Environment” article that appeared in the Postal Bulletin on June 5, 2008, (issue 22234), you will see two changes to the pricing for toner offered in the OfficeMax catalog:
1. HP lowered the price it charges OfficeMax for many of its original equipment manufacturer (OEM) toner cartridges, and OfficeMax passed that savings on to the United States Postal Service®. If you prefer HP OEM cartridges, you will now pay a lower price for some of these cartridges. However, the OfficeMax-branded remanufactured toner cartridges still cost less than the HP OEM toner cartridges.
2. Under the Javits-Wagner-O’Day (JWOD) Act, seven of the OfficeMax-branded, remanufactured toner cartridges now convert to remanufactured cartridges from the National Institute for the Severely Handicapped (NISH) workshops. The NISH remanufactured cartridges still cost less than the OEM cartridges. You will still see the seven OfficeMax-branded remanufactured toner cartridges in the OfficeMax eBuy catalog. However, when you select them for purchase, they automatically change to the appropriate NISH remanufactured cartridges.
You will save from 6 to 66 percent by using the remanufactured cartridges. The following list shows the OEM cartridges and the corresponding remanufactured cartridges. All of the cartridges listed are available from the OfficeMax eBuy catalog.
