New Purchase Cards Will Be Issued Starting October 18

The Postal Service™ has awarded a task order under the GSA SmartPay 2 program to the incumbent bank provider, U.S. Bank. This task order will be in effect for up to 10 years beginning November 30, 2008. The purchase card will continue to be a VISA-brand card and will be easy to differentiate from current cards with its new design and colors (see below).

Employees who currently serve as cardholders under the Postal Service’s GSA SmartPay Purchase Card Pro­gram should expect to receive their new cards between October 18 and November 7, 2008.

Upon receipt cardholders must:

• Activate their new card/account by following the instructions accompanying their new card (U.S. Bank Cardholder Guide).
• Contact any merchants that may have their old account on file and provide them with the new account number (e.g., Ricoh Corp). Advise them that the old numbers must be purged from their system.
• Contact U.S. Bank Customer Service Center at 888–994-6722, if they do not receive their card/account information by November 15.
• Start using their new purchase card on November 30, and destroy all old cards.
