Tiffany Lamp 1-cent stamp

On April 28, 2009, in Washington, DC, the Postal Service™ will issue a 1-cent, Tiffany Lamp definitive stamp in one design in a water-activated gum (WAG) coil of 10,000 stamps (Item 786400). The stamp, designed by Derry Noyes, Washington, DC, goes on sale nationwide April 28, 2009.

The stamp was previously issued in the following formats:

n March 1, 2003, water-activated gum (WAG), coil of 3,000 (Item 781500).

n March 16, 2007, pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) pane of 20 (Item 104100).

n March 7, 2008, PSA pane of 20 (Item 104100).

n June 7, 2008, water-activated gum (WAG), coil of 3,000 (Item 781500).

How to Order the First Day of Issue Postmark

Customers have 60 days to obtain the first day of issue postmark by mail. They may purchase new stamps at their local Post Office™, at The Postal Store® website at www.usps.com/shop, or by calling 800-STAMP-24. They should affix the stamps to envelopes of their choice, address the envelopes (to themselves or others), and place them in a larger envelope addressed to:

After applying the first day of issue postmark, the Postal Service will return the envelopes through the mail. There is no charge for the postmark. All orders must be postmarked by June 29, 2009.

Distribution: Item 786400, 1-cent Tiffany Lamp WAG Coil of 10,000 Stamps

The $100.00 Tiffany Lamp WAG coil of 10,000 will not be automatically distributed to stamp distribution offices (SDOs). Automatic distributions will be made only to accountable paper depositories (APDs), stamp services centers (SSCs), and the Cincinnati SDO. Initial APD distri­butions, which began March 17, 2009, will be complete by April 14, 2009. SDOs requiring stamps must order them from the appropriate APD using PS Form 17, Stamp Requisition/Stamp Return.

Initial Supply to Post Offices

SDOs will not make a subsequent automatic distribution of Item 786400 to Post Offices. All Post Offices requiring stamps must order them from their designated SDO using PS Form 17. SDOs must not distribute coils to Post Offices before April 21, 2009.
