The 2009 Stamp Yearbook and The Postal Service Guide to U.S. Stamps — 36th Edition go on sale October 1, 2009. They will be automatically sent to approximately 4,324 designated Post Office locations in new philatelic product kit packs with other core philatelic products as appropriate. For information about the philatelic product locations participating in the new Consumer Product Initiative, visit the Retail Intranet website at http://blue.usps.gov/retail. Stamp yearbooks, stamp guides, and other approved philatelic products are no longer ordered from stamp distribution offices (SDOs). The automatic philatelic product kit pack shipments begin the week of September 21, 2009. The collectible stamps for the stamp yearbooks will be packaged separately inside the kits. For the first time, a set of display versions of the 2009 Stamp Yearbook (without stamps) and The Postal Service Guide to U.S. Stamps — 36th Edition will be packaged together and also provided in the kits. These nonaccountable versions of the books are to be displayed on the “Featured Items” section of lobby slatwalls with the provided wire fixtures. The “Featured Items” slatwall header sign and the Retail Merchandising Guide with complete display instructions will be packaged together in a separate shipment. As the books and other philatelic products are sold and scanned into POS ONE, they will be automatically replenished by way of a new Inventory Replenishment System.
