Whenever you have a requirement for a product or service and you need to know how it should be purchased, Supply Management has a tool that can help you locate the responsible buying office or Category Management Center (CMC) to obtain purchasing information.
The Who Buys My Stuff? CMC Locator is an easy-to-use program, using Microsoft Excel, which allows you to select from a list of products and services to identify the responsible purchasing office. This tool was recently enhanced to provide you with more information about the purchase of products and services, such as national contract information, ordering instructions under Material Logistics Bulletins, eBuy catalog availability, local buying options, and other helpful guidance from the CMC responsible for managing the commodity.
You can also link from the tool to related websites that may be useful to you when making purchases.
To access the new tool, go to http://blue.usps.gov/ purchase/services/escmc/cmclocator.xls.
