DMM Revision: Permit Imprint Postage Payment Allowed for Express Mail Using the Electronic Verification System

Effective January 4, 2010, the Postal Service™ will revise Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Ser­vice, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM^®), 413 and 414 to clarify that Express Mail^® commercial base and commercial plus prices are available to permit imprint customers using the Electronic Verification System (eVS^®) program to docu­ment and pay postage.

On October 5, 2009, the Postal Service revised the DMM to allow Express Mail postage payment via permit imprint for mailers participating in the eVS program. See Postal Bulletin 22268 (9-24-09, page 12).

All Express Mail eVS mailings must be paid with a permit imprint and meet the standards in DMM 604.5.0 and 705.2.9.
