DMM Revision: Click-N-Ship Insurance Indemnity Coverage Increase — Feasibility Test Extension

Effective June 7, 2010, the Postal Service™ will revise the Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®) 709.4 to extend the feasibility test period that permits the purchase of domestic Click-N-Ship® online insurance coverage up to $5,000.00.

The feasibility test was previously scheduled to end on May 14, 2010. With this extension, the Postal Service reserves the right to end the test prior to or extend it beyond November 14, 2010. Additional mailing and claims data will be analyzed during the program to determine whether this should be a permanent offering, revised, or terminated.

The feasibility test increases online insurance indemnity coverage for domestic Express Mail® service and Priority Mail® service from $500.00 to $5,000.00 when purchased through Click-N-Ship service. Increased online insurance indemnity will not be available for any other class of mail, even when postage is paid through Click-N-Ship service.
