Effective August 2, 2010, the Postal Service™ is revising the Index of Countries and Localities in Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®). This revision will align the IMM index with the revised listing that is scheduled to appear (also on August 2, 2010) in the International Price Calculator on Postal Explorer® at http://pe.usps.com.
The revised IMM index will include the following:
n The addition of 15 new localities (i.e., regions or zones of a country). For example, the revised index will include all of Canada’s provinces.
n Minor revisions to 67 entries. For example, American Samoa will be listed as “American Samoa, United States (Domestic Mail)” rather than as “American Samoa (U.S. Possession).”
It is important to note that no new countries will appear in the revised list — like the current list, the revised list will include 215 countries.
