Effective June 24, 2012, the Postal Service™ will revise the Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®) 705.5.3.2 to add new price and postage markings when mailers apply affixed postage to pieces in a multiline optical character reader (MLOCR)-produced mailing that is eligible for promotional pricing. This revision corrects a revision published as part of the article “DMM Revision: Mobile Commerce and Personalization Promotion” in Postal Bulletin 22336 (5-3-12, pages 18–20) effective July 1, 2012.
The correction is to the codes used for Standard Mail®. “PR” will designate regular Standard Mail postage, and “PN” will designate Nonprofit Standard Mail postage. The previously published markings for First-Class Mail® are correct as published.
