Pub 133 Revision: What You Need to Know About EEO

Publication 133, What You Need to Know About EEO, has been updated for compliance purposes with EEO laws and regulations enforced by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (GINA) protects applicants and employees from discrimination based on genetic information. It is illegal to discriminate against employees or applicants for employment on the basis of race, color, religion, genetic information, national origin, sex, age (40+), physical or mental disability, or in retaliation for engaging in an EEO-protected activity. Additional revisions to Publication 133 include a more concise definition of a mixed case with examples and further guidelines, and the Interim Relief section was rewritten.
