Ordering Specially Designed Recycling Containers for Mixed Paper

The Postal Service™ has new ordering procedures for mixed paper recycling containers. The Office of Sustainability provides specially designed 23-gallon blue plastic containers at no cost to those Postal Service facilities that are capable of recycling mixed paper. The blue containers have the following pre-printed wording: “Mixed Paper Only.” Use these blue containers to collect mixed paper for recycling purposes only. Orders from Post Offices™ and other retail facilities have been changed to one container for each two carrier routes. For example, a facility with 20 carrier routes is authorized to order ten blue containers. For plants, vehicle maintenance facilities, and other administrative offices, order one container for every 20 employees. Supplies are limited and orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Affected Postmasters should use the eBuy on-catalog requisition system to order the workroom floor containers from the Topeka, Kansas, Material Distribution Center (MDC). Search for items using the PSN number listed below (without the dashes). If your office does not have access to eBuy, order using touch-tone order entry (TTOE) at 800-273-1509.
