Effective April 7, 2014, the Postal Service™ will revise Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®) section 505.3.7 to delete the former standards for Priority Mail Reshipment service using Merchandise Return Service (MRS) which was recently replaced by Premium Forwarding Service Commercial (PFS-Commercial™).
The Postal Service provided advance notice of changes to introduce Premium Forwarding Service Commercial in Federal Register Docket No. 2013-27728, Volume 78, Number 224 (Wednesday, November 20, 2013) and provided notice of implementation and the new standards in Postal Bulletin issue 22318, dated January 23, 2014. Since PFS-Commercial has replaced Priority Mail (PM) Reshipment service, the obsolete related standards in 505.3.7 are being removed. Although these revisions will not be published in the DMM until April 7, 2014, these standards are effective immediately.
