2015 Mailing Promotions Make Mail “Irresistible”

During the 2015 National Postal Forum, the Postal Service™ introduced the Irresistible Mail book and website with great success. The book and website feature state-of-the art examples for the use of innovative print and mobile technology with mail that engages recipients.

Each of these examples, which can be viewed at http://www.irresistiblemail.com, makes the mailer eligible to participate in the 2015 Emerging and Advanced Technology promotion. Additionally, the Postal Service features three other promotions which are designed to retain First-Class Mail® and grow Standard Mail® volumes by keeping mail valuable and relevant. Here is the lineup of all of this year’s promotions:

Earned Value Reply Mail

Designed to encourage mailers to use First-Class Mail as the primary reply means for their customers by providing a postage credit for each returned Business Reply Mail® or Courtesy Reply Mail™ piece.

Registration Period: March 15–April 30, 2015 (Registration is now closed)

Program Period: May 1–July 31, 2015

Color Transpromo

A tool for mailers to increase the value of bills, invoices, and statements by combining the power of digital and color technology to add marketing messages to the mailpiece. The use of color adds value to the statement and can produce a greater connection and response from customers.

Registration Period: April 15–November 30, 2015

Program Period: June 1–November 30, 2015

Emerging and Advanced Technology

Designed to create omni-channel marketing opportunities by integrating direct mail with mobile technology and interactive designs for sensory engagement experiences. Mailers are encouraged to use “enhanced” reality, Near Field Communications (NFC), and other technologies, including inks, paper, and interactive engagements, as described in the Program Requirements documents.

Mail Drives Mobile Engagement

Provides business mailers with an upfront two percent postage discount on Standard Mail letters and flats. The mailpiece must include a mobile barcode or print/mobile technology that can be read or scanned by a mobile device and leads the recipient to a mobile-optimized shopping website or the ability to complete a financial transaction.
