Effective September 14, 2015, the Postal Service™ will expand Parcel Return Service (PRS) return delivery units (RDUs) to 932 new locations. In an effort to gain more of the $3 billion returns market and to improve operational efficiency, all seven areas will increase the number of available RDUs, which will bring the total number of available RDUs to 9,063 units. PRS is a work-share solution designed for high-volume shippers. It offers convenience, visibility, and reduced transit time — which add up to a better returns experience for eCommerce shoppers and shippers alike.
PRS allows consumers to take their return packages to any Post Office™ and schedule free Package Pickup. If the item meets aviation mail security guidelines, they can drop the item in a collection box.
Please contact your business alliance representative or business customer support representative to get a list of new RDU ZIP Codes™. If you need additional information contact your USPS® sales representative or send an email to returns@usps.gov.
