November 9, 2015 to December 14, 2015
The Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Open Season will be held from November 9 to December 14, 2015, 11:59 p.m. ET. This is the annual benefits enrollment period, when you can enroll in or make changes to your medical, dental, or vision coverage. Employees are able to take another look at their current coverage to see if it aligns with their current needs, compare plans to other available options, and make any necessary changes.
This Open Season is the first opportunity to enroll in the Self Plus One option through the FEHB program. This enrollment type allows you to cover yourself and one eligible family member you designate to be covered. Your eligible family member can include:
n A spouse;
n A child under age 26; or
n A child age 26 or over who is incapable of self-support because of a mental or physical disability that existed before age 26.
If you only have one other individual you wish to cover, Self Plus One is likely the option for you! Don’t pay for more coverage than you need.
Note: The Postal Service will not publish Guides to Benefits for Open Season this year. Instead, you can access other helpful resources that will provide you with all the information you need to get ready for Open Season on the LiteBlue Open Season page at https://liteblue.usps.gov/openseason16. Archived 2014 Guides are also available on the Open Season page.
From the Open Season page, you can access OPM’s Plan Comparison Tool to help you choose the right plan. Through this tool you can:
n Find health plans available in your Zip Code™;
n Choose plans to compare; and
n See a simple summary of benefits.
The Plan Comparison Tool allows employees to view a side-by-side comparison of up to four specific health plans, including rates, coverage details, customer survey feedback on quality, and more.
To make an FEHB enrollment change, go to PostalEASE from the LiteBlue Open Season page at https://liteblue.usps.gov/openseason16, an Employee Self-Service Kiosk (available at some facilities), Blue, or by calling the HR Shared Service Center (HRSSC) at 877-477-3273, option 1; (TTY 866-260-7507).
Remember, unless you have a Qualifying Life Event, this is the only time during the year that you can make changes to your health benefits enrollment. Be active and take action this Open Season.
