n Any American voter living overseas has the opportunity to mail his or her completed ballot back home Free of Charge at the nearest American embassy or consulate, or APO⁄FPO if the voter has authorized access to the military base.
n Even in times of war, the Postal Service has delivered the most fundamental symbol of democracy — a ballot. One of the efforts we’re proudest of is our contribution to seeing that the brave men and woman of our armed forces serving abroad can vote.
n There are special procedures for APO⁄FPO⁄DPO Absentee Ballots for the 2016 presidential general election. These procedures are in effect between September 1 and November 8.
n During this time, the Postal Service will provide special handling for dispatch via the International Service Centers.
n The Postal Service recommends that ballots be returned no later than the mailing dates found at https:⁄⁄www.usps.com⁄election-mail⁄2016-americans-overseas-ballot-mailing-deadlines.pdf.
