Effective February 23, 2018, the Postal Service™ will eliminate the “No Postage” label option from the Web Tools Label Application Interface (API) for Shipping Labels: Domestic and International. Web Tools Label API will continue to offer customers the option to print domestic and international postage paid labels.
Removal of the “No Postage” label option within Web Tools Label API will support the following initiatives:
n Stop customers from sending packages without proof of postage payment,
n Provide revenue assurance, and
n Prevent the printing of millions of potentially fraudulent labels.
Customers will still be able to print postage paid labels without compromising customer experience or revenue assurance. The U.S. Postal Service® has several alternatives for generating Intelligent Mail® package barcode (IMpb®) labels (including postage paid).
