Revised PS Form 8105-A and PS Form 8105-B

The Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Office of the Postal Service has revised PS Form 8105-A, Funds Transaction Report, to comply with updated federal requirements to identify the true source or “owner” of cash. Part of that effort is collecting data, not only on the purchaser, but also on the beneficial owner if the purchaser is making the purchase “on behalf of” another individual or organization. This information is required when a customer purchases $3,000 or more in Postal Service financial instruments (e.g., money orders, Sure Money®, gift cards) on behalf of another person or organization in a single day.

Additionally, the U.S. Postal Service® must obtain the same information for cashed financial instruments totaling more than $10,000 in a single day. With the release of the revised PS Form 8105-A, we now require customers to provide identifying information on the beneficial owner as well as themselves for these transactions to take place.

The forms are available as follows:

n On March 1, 2018, the revised hard copy versions of PS Form 8105-A and PS Form 8105-B will be available to order from the Material Distribution Center (MDC) through eBuy2.

n On March 11, 2018, revised PS Form 8105-A will be available on the Retail Software System (RSS).

Use the forms as follows:

n RSS offices must use hard copy forms to collect information from the customer and then enter the information into RSS. The hard copy forms must then be given back to the customer or shredded to protect personal information.

n Manual offices must mail the completed hard copy forms to the new address printed on the forms on the day of the transaction.

Detailed training for the revised PS Form 8105-A is currently available via the Learning Management System (course 10026884), which is the mandatory Bank Secrecy Act training for FY 2018.

You can use the old forms until you receive the revised forms. Once you receive the revised forms, recycle any previous versions of PS Form 8105-A and PS Form 8105-B. Please order enough forms to supply any Contract Postal Unit/Contract Post Office (CPU/CPO) locations for which you are responsible.
