Effective June 7, 2018, the Postal Service™ is revising Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to reflect a change to the Individual Country Listing for South Africa.
As a result of a formal request made through the Universal Postal Union via International Bureau Circular 56, dated May 7, 2018, South Africa is adding a prohibition on all liquids. This prohibition also applies to mail in transit, as South Africa indicates that mailers must not send shipments that include liquids to or via South Africa.
