Postal Service Uniform Guidelines

Uniformed USPS® employees are among the most recognizable and respected figures in the nation. The Postal Service™ serves over 157 million delivery points every day, with each customer interaction providing a valuable opportunity to leave a lasting, positive impression.

Postal Service uniforms offer immediate visual identification of employees. USPS employees must maintain a high standard of dress and project a professional appearance while on duty. The uniforms are practical and easy to maintain; when worn properly, they create a positive public perception of USPS.

The Postal Service has developed a pictorial guidebook entitled “Postal Uniform Guidelines” for employees to use as a quick reference tool for all executive and administrative staff managers of “customer facing” employees. A digital version of the guidebook is now available on the Postal Communicator’s Toolbox at blue.usps.gov/corpcomm/toolbox. Hard copies will be available in November.

It is an honor to represent one of America’s founding organizations. After all, USPS employees are responsible for delivering the Postal Service brand every day. Employees are encouraged to not simply wear the brand, but to “Be the brand” in attitude and attire. It’s your uniform — wear it with pride.
