Effective January 27, 2019, the Postal Service™ will revise Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to change the official name of “Swaziland” to “Eswatini.” Revisions will occur in the following places: sections 213.5, 292.45a, and 322.2; the Index of Countries and Localities; the Country Price Groups and Weight Limits; and the Individual Country Listings.
On August 6, 2018, International Bureau Circular 108 notified Universal Postal Union member countries that the head of state of the Kingdom of Swaziland declared a name change from the Kingdom of Swaziland to the Kingdom of Eswatini as the official name, with Eswatini as the short name.
The Postal Service is following suit and changing references in the IMM from “Swaziland” to “Eswatini.”
