The Postal Service™ would like to remind customers of the price eligibility for USPS Retail Ground® parcels.
Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®), section 153.1.1, provides that USPS Retail Ground prices are only available to customers for mailable items sent to Zones 5 through 9, except for the following:
a. Items that contain mailable hazardous materials or live animals eligible to be shipped by surface transportation.
b. Items required to be shipped by surface transportation only.
c. Oversized items that measure over 108 inches but not more than 130 inches in combined length and girth, or items eligible for USPS Retail Ground — Limited Overland Routes retail prices.
Unless an item meets one of the above exceptions, USPS Retail Ground prices in Zones 1 through 4 are not available for general mailing purposes. These items are upgraded to retail Priority Mail® service at no additional cost.
