Information Security Courses for USPS Business System Owners are Now Available

Recently, the Corporate Information Security Office launched two business system owner courses that require completion by February 25, 2019. Users who don’t meet this deadline will be subject to limited, ACE-system access until both courses are completed.

Please log in to HERO, the integrated Human Resources system learning portal (usps.csod.com/LMS/catalog/Welcome.aspx), to complete the following courses:

n Cyber Landscape and Risk. Provides an overview of the cyber landscape and discusses recent case studies from the news. Users will learn how the organizations were breached, what kind of data was lost, risks to the organization, and the impact of each data breach. The course includes a description of the system owner’s role and responsibilities, and outlines other system team roles and responsibilities.

n Process Overview. Provides a technical systems life cycle process overview. From the Business Needs Statement to system decommission, users will learn how to detect security problems early, prevent most cyberattacks, and lessen the possibility of negative organizational impact. The course includes a review of process steps and identifies the security risks associated with each one.
