Effective April 6, 2019, the Postal Service™ restored mail service to Guatemala. This restoration rescinds the temporary suspension that was announced in the article titled “Temporary Suspension of Mail Service to Guatemala” in Postal Bulletin 22466 (4-27-17, page 7).
As of April 6, 2019, Postal Service employees are to resume acceptance of all classes of mail to Guatemala.
The sender may remail any item that meets all of the following characteristics:
1. Has existing postage.
2. Was returned due to the suspension of service.
3. Did not bear a customs declaration form (because it did not contain goods).
When remailing under this option, the sender must cross out the marking “Mail Service Suspended — Return to Sender.”
