Effective May 23, 2019, the Postal Service™ is revising Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®), sections 123.64 and 372.2, to reflect current information about acceptable forms of identification.
As published in the article titled “DMM Revision: Required Forms of Identification” in Postal Bulletin 22519 (5-9-19, page 18), the Postal Service is adding to Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®) a new section 608.10.0, “Forms of Identification.” This new section will act as the primary source for consistent standards of acceptable and unacceptable forms of identification, including a description of the acceptable primary forms of photo identification in 608.10.3. Consequently, in the IMM, we are revising the applicable sections to reference DMM 608.10.3.
